Following extensive consultation Raptor Awards are about to publish new international and occupational standards for professional abatement / bird controllers.
The new professional level standards define for the first time the knowledge and professional skills that must be mastered in order to undertake this work at a professional level.
“..for too long it has been possible for non-qualified people to enter the industry. This has lead to poor welfare for the birds of prey used as well as poor service levels for clients … at last we can look forward to improving standards and the eventual professionalisation of the industry” said a Raptor Awards spokesperson earlier today
