Are you a professional Falconer in the UK?
Do you hold an AAL or Zoo Licence (or work for someone who does)
Can you prove that you have the knowledge and competence to satisfy a licencing inspector?
Sadly, working as a professional /commercial falconer in the UK has become more frustrating and time consuming since the introduction of licensing in 2018. This means that many experienced and knowledgeable falconers are now expected to be able to ‘prove’ their competence despite many years experience.
This is a fact of modern life, but here at the IRBPP we know exactly how frustrating this can be.
We have been supporting bird of prey professionals since 2015 and can provide help by certificating your existing skills, and supporting your inspections with easy-to-use guides and templates of all key policy and recording documents.
So next time someone asks ‘do you have documentary evidence to show that you are competent‘ – you can answer YES!
There is a link below to a FREE online test you can take right now. It is based on the National Standards for Bird of Prey Welfare and any professional falconer or other bird of prey professional should easily meet the pass rate. The questions are taken from the ‘Raptor Awards courses ‘Keeping birds of prey’ and ‘Training birds of prey’ as taken by beginners and new bird of prey keepers.
What if I don’t pass? Well first of all the FREE test is totally private and your results are not published anywhere. If you need to, you can always come back to us and ask for advice on how to provide documentary evidence of your professional standing and competence.
So, have a go, and see how you get on.
